A Weekend with John Campbell & John Bultman

Join this duo for a workshop delving into the Ashtanga Yoga method that will illuminate some technical aspects of the Ashtanga practice that the tradition maintains are essential. Without these essential elements the core asana practice would become nearly bending. We will have practice, technical sessions along with theory discussion. See the bios below on these highly regarded practitioners and teachers of the method.

During the weekend of Oct 2nd to the 4th there will be 5 Sessions for $200 (early bird pricing of $175 up to Sept 9th). We hope you will be able to join us for the full weekend to have the opportunity to have each session resonate and build upon the next. Sessions will be available individually at $50/each.


Mysore Style Practice with John Campbell & John Bultman

Practice the Ashtanga method with certified and authorized teachers in the method who both have dedicated years of practice and study under Pattabhi Jois and Sharath Jois. We will have start times so that everyone will have an opportunity to have time with these guest teachers. Join us for both days to enjoy the benefit of daily assists and personalized instruction.

John Campbell

John Campbell is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Religious Studies at the University of Virginia and the Founder of the Contemplative Sciences Center, of which he is currently the Coordinating Director of Yoga Programs. He is a longtime practitioner of Tibetan Buddhism and has been practicing Ashtanga Yoga for over twenty years, seventeen of which were under the direct guidance of Shri K. Pattabhi Jois. In 2003 he was honored to become one the few Certified teachers of Ashtanga Yoga worldwide. He lives with his wife and three children in Charlottesville, VA.

John Bultman

John was Authorized Level II by his teacher Sharath Jois, Director of KPJAYI, Krishna Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute, Mysore, India, where he is currently learning 4th series. He is the principal instructor and program coordinator for the University of Virginia’s Ashtanga Yoga program in Charlottesville, VA, USA. He has studied various scientific and spiritual practices his entire life and hopes to share the fruits of what his teachers have graciously taught him with humility, warmth, and patience.
