The Slicer Connection
La Porte Middle School - June 2021
We are so proud of our students, staff, and LPMS families as they have navigated some very unusual and difficult circumstances due to COVID this year. Their perseverance and resilience throughout has been admirable. We recognized our students and teachers at grade level awards programs on Thursday, June 3, and these are shared in the link below. The 8th grade celebration on June 4 honored our 8th graders and the leadership they have shown as upperclassmen this year with many fun activities including a DJ and slide show, also shared in the link below. It is our hope that all of our students, staff, and LPMS families enjoy a wonderful summer full of fun, family, and time for rest and reflection. We are thankful for the opportunities this year provided for growth and relationship building! We look forward to a new school year in the fall to serve our students and families. We wish our 8th graders all the best as they move on to high school!

21st Century Scholars Program Presentation
Information about 21st Century Scholars was presented to 8th grade students on Friday, December 4th during their Enrichment hour. The 21st Century Scholars Program provides income-eligible students the opportunity to earn a scholarship that covers up to four years of tuition and regularly assessed fees. Through the completion of various tasks throughout high school and college, the program supports students and families by providing them the tools they need to prepare for college, graduate on time, and start toward a successful career path. The deadline to enroll online in this valuable program is June 30, 2021, for 8th graders. Even if you do not meet income eligibility requirements at the moment or are not exactly sure if college is something your son or daughter wants to do, it is still HIGHLY RECOMMENDED you enroll in the program and have your son or daughter complete the tasks...you never know what the future might bring! Please check out the presentation below for more information.
