Another Virus?
There are over 100 different types of known enteroviruses - common viruses most likely to infect infants, children and teenagers. Most enterovirus infections in the United States occur seasonally during the summer and fall.
Indiana is one of several states having confirmed cases of Enterovirus D68 (EV-D68). EV-D68 typically causes upper respiratory illness such as low-grade fever, cough, runny nose, sneezing and body/muscle aches. Infected individuals generally recover on their own without incident by treating symptoms. However, some individuals, especially those with weakened immune systems or underlying medical conditions, such as asthma, may experience severe complications and require hospitalization with supportive therapy.
Please reference the below article with QUICK FACTS ABOUT ENTEROVIRUS recently posted by the Indiana State Department of Health for more information on symptoms, treatment and prevention.

Central Student Leaders Address Parking Issues
At the end of the training, students were challenged by the director at Strides, Debbie Anderson, to use their leadership skills to address a real problem at their school. Central Principal Jason Hopper challenged the students to see consider finding a way to add any more parking spaces to the school's current lot.
These student leaders stepped up in a big way and accomplished the challenge! After contacting Groninger Excavating Company for a bid, students presented the need for more parking and estimated quote to Assistant Superintendent Jud Wolfe. While students were willing to raise funds for the project and had several ideas, Mr. Wolfe was able to provide unused funds from another current project at Central Elementary.
Five additional parking spaces were installed in Central's parking lot in July. Students were recognized for their efforts with a plaque attached to the playground fence above the new parking spaces.
