Happy December! The school year is moving fast. Hopefully everyone is getting into the holiday spirit! It's been busy here in the library. There have has been over 2,000 students in library over the months of October and November. Please let me know if you would like to sign up and bring your classes down. As always, I'm here for you.


Community Service for Students

I will be offering community service opportunities for students. They can make a dog or cat toy in the morning before school or during their lunch. All donations will be made to Bideawee in Westhampton.

Web 2.0 Tool Review: Sway

Sway is an easy-to-use digital story telling app. It allows you to create interactive reports, presentations, personal stories, and more.

The school district bought a subscription through our Microsoft Outlook email accounts. Just click on the "waffle" within your email and click on Sway.

Database Spotlight: Britannica ImageQuest

Named one of the best databases by School Library Journal. Britannica ImageQuest's library consists of three million high-quality photographs, maps, and drawings of nearly everything from ladybugs to Lady Gaga. The images are from the British Library, DK Images, Getty Images, and the National Portrait Gallery. All images are rights cleared for non-commercial, educational use. The photos are curated carefully, making this database a reliable, safe source for students. "Project Ideas" offers a variety of lesson plans and ideas to use with your students. Overall, this is a user-friendly database with a plethora of premium images.

It's FREE through the Virtual Reference Collection under ART/MUSIC.
