Student Chromebook and iPad End of the School Year Plan

Device Drop-off Dates

See below if you need to drop off your device or not.

Drop off dates at Tumwater (Timberland) are:

  • Thursday, June 17th from 4:00-7:00pm
  • Friday, June 18th from 8:30-1:00pm


Elementary Students (Grades K-5)

Elementary students need to return their Chromebooks and iPads (with the power cord and stylus on the newer Chromebooks) to Tumwater at the end of the school year. Students who are in summer school can keep their device for summer school.


Secondary students (Grades 6-12)


  • All students grade 6-11 who will be attending a BSD school in the fall should keep their device for the summer unless they prefer to turn it in.
  • Any students not returning to BSD in the fall need to turn in their Chromebook (with stylus and power cord) to Tumwater at the end of the school year unless they are attending summer school. Summer school students will return their devices at the end of summer school.
  • Seniors will need to turn in their Chromebook (with the power cord and stylus) to Tumwater as soon as they finish school unless they’re in summer school. Summer school students will return their devices at the end of summer school.

Enrollment Reminders

  • If your student attends FLEX now and plans on staying next year, there is no need to re-enroll; students are automatically enrolled at FLEX for the 2021-22 school year.

  • If your student is going to attend a different school next fall, please contact FLEX at flex-online-school@beaverton.k12.or.us and the other school with this information.

  • If you or someone you know has a student who will be joining us for the first time next fall, please visit our enrollment page on the FLEX website to register.

More Science Olympiad Success

Congratulations Merul Babaria and Anika Gupta for winning the 6th Place in the event of "Game On" at the 37th Annual Science Olympiad National Tournament hosted by Arizona State University, Tempe, Arizona on May 22nd. The duo is a part of the 15 member team that won the Oregon State Championship back in April and moved on to represent Oregon at the Nationals.

Science Olympiad competitions are like academic track meets consisting of 21 different events where top 60 teams from across the nation compete with each other for the top 6 spots for each individual event. The events cover a very wide and diverse range of topics like Crime Busters (Forensic Science), Disease Detectives, Fossils, Reach for the stars etc... For each topic Students are provided specific targeted areas where they are expected to master and gain in-depth knowledge.

For the event of Game On teams are required to develop a fully functional Video Game using the "Scratch" platform on a specific scientific theme that is disclosed only at the start of the trial.
The game developed is required to use at 4 different scientific concepts based on the given theme and include both user controlled and autonomous characters (AKA sprites) programmed with a complex range of movements and capable of interacting with each other and game background. The games are judged in 22 different areas covering over 150 attributes including everything from code style, code comments, type of music and sounds used, quality of graphics for the background and sprites etc...

"This is Kalapuyan Land" Inspired Art by 6th Graders

On Monday, June 7, 6th graders and their learning coaches had the opportunity to create their own works of art inspired by the piece "The Sun Bathed Everything #3" by Angelica Trimble Yanu. Summer School

Check out your neighborhood school's website for their summer school options.

Summer Meal Program

This summer, children can access free breakfasts and lunches through the federally-funded Summer Food Service Program sponsored by the Beaverton School District Nutrition Services Department. All children, ages 1 through 18 years, are eligible. There is no application or registration required. Parents or guardians may pick up meals for children who aren’t able to be present.

Digital Summer Access

Looking for ways to stay digitally connected to learning this summer? Try some of these engaging and interactive digital activities with your student(s).


The Digital Summer Access website has tools for reading, math, science, PE and more.


Students will need their BSD username and password information to access many of these so be sure to get that information from your teacher before June 18.
