January Newsletter - Fresno/Clovis
Happy New Year!
Welcome year 2020! We are so excited to be a part of this new year with you! We hope you had a wonderful winter break and look forward to spending time TOGETHER soon! Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions.
In order to keep positive relationships with vendors, and also for us to plan events with the correct number of supplies, please be careful to sign up for trips/events that you will likely be able to attend. We understand that illnesses can make plans change at the last minute. We definitely understand that. You are able to cancel, when you know in advance, on your own in the FTE up until the closing date. You can really help us out by paying careful attention to that date in the FTE and canceling prior to that date if you need to. We use this date to give vendors final numbers, and also to purchase and provide enough materials. If we find out after that date, supplies have been purchased and vendors have been notified/paid, and it does not allow us to replace your spot or issue refunds. We are getting quite a few cancellations a couple of days before events. We understand that this is all new, and we are figuring it out with you. No worries. If we could minimize this with open communication that would be great. Also, please make sure that you register for each and every trip and event.Thank you for understanding. See you on an adventure soon!
*Please remember CC Events are not drop-off nor are the CC staff responsible for supervising students at these events. Parents are responsible for providing supervision of their children for every Community Connection activity, event & field trip.

Sanger Depot Museum Tour
Welcome to the Sanger Depot Museum, where the rich history of Sanger, California comes to life from its boomtown beginnings to its growth into the city known as “the Nation’s Christmas Tree City”. The Sanger Depot Museum is actually the Sanger Railroad Depot, once the hub of the town’s growth. Built-in 1887 the Sanger Railroad Depot sat beside the Southern Pacific Railroad that ran between Fresno and Porterville, California. Among the cargo that passed through this depot was grain, citrus and lots of lumber brought down from the mountains by Sanger’s booming lumber operation.
Come explore the museum with a FREE private tour for Inspire Charter School. While this event is free, we expect a waitlist, so please make sure that you can attend BEFORE signing up out of respect for other families who would love to attend.

Black Holes at the Planetarium
Black Holes lurk in the universe like cosmic dragons, unseen voids with the energy of a million suns. They can devour entire stars, and once in their grasp, nothing, not even light, can escape. Few mysteries in the universe have the power and awe of Black Holes. Only now are we on the verge of understanding their true nature. What are they? How are they made? Is the Earth in danger of being pulled into one?
Come join us at the Downing Planetarium. on January 30th at 10:30. This field trip is for grades 6-12. The show begins promptly at 10:30 so be sure you are on time.
