Principals Message:

Dear Weibel Families,

Happy New Year! I hope all the families had a wonderful, relaxing holiday season and wish everyone the best in 2023. I would like to thank everyone for wishing our Weibel staff a very warm Holiday season and all of your support with the Kids Against Hunger event. Weibel raised close to $5000 to support the meal supply cost. Thank you everyone for your generosity during this Holiday season.

We will kick off 2023 with the Great Kindness Challenge. Please see below for more information on our spirit days from our Counselors and the Student Council team. I hope many students will be able to show kindness in a variety of ways. January and February are both filled with activities and celebrations. Thank you to our teachers and room parents/volunteers in their efforts to keep our activities running during these times.

Thank you,

Ms. Lee

Weibel announced as a California Distinguished School 2023

Weibel has been announced as a California Distinguished School. The program recognizes schools for their excellent work in one of the 2 categories: closing the achievement gap and achieving exceptional student performance. 356 CA elementary schools are being recognized as a Distinguished School this year. Congratulations to all of you. Thank you so much to all staff for all your hard work and dedication to our students.

2023/2024 Sibling Priority Enrollment

Priority enrollment for siblings of current TK to 4th grade opened on December 23rd.

Applications must be submitted online on or before April 6, 2023 with an enrollment meeting completed by April 14, 2023 in order to have priority placement or for participation in the lottery for Kinder students, if more students are enrolled than we have space for.

Enrollment will re-open on April 24, 2023. Siblings no longer have priority enrollment at this time. Click on the link below for further information.

2023/2024 Reservation Forms for Continued Enrollment

Reservation forms will be mailed home via USPS on or around January 27, 2023.

Upon receipt of this form (one for each student), please fill out, follow the instruction on the form by attaching 2 proofs of residency per the list indicated on the form, and return to Weibel by the due date of February 24. This is to ensure that your child has a reserved space at Weibel for the next school year. This is a District mandated annual residency verification and these forms will not be handed out, they must be received in the mail as proof that you still reside at the address we have on file.

Students overloaded to another school will return the form to the school they are currently attending, not to Weibel.

Forms submitted without being entirely filled out/signed or with missing documents will be returned.

Please complete this Change of Address Form and submit to your child’s school if you have moved.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are so excited to start 2023 with the Great Kindness Challenge. We do this every year as a challenge to the students to be aware of how important it is to be kind to others. The students are challenged to try different types of kindness - from smiling at others or inviting someone to play, to picking up trash or helping with chores. Sometimes we forget how essential these small acts are in the lives of others. Please take the time to talk about kindness and how it makes you feel. Then ask your child what types of kindness they notice and how it makes them feel. Connecting in this way will help your child understand the value and impact of their actions. Encourage your child to engage in random acts of kindness at school and at home. Here is a great short list for you to talk about with your kids! Here is a file with activities and read aloud books for you to enjoy with your child. This file even has an at home challenge! Good luck!

At school we will be participating in the Great Kindness Challenge from January 23-27th. Please encourage your student to participate with acts of kindness! We will be handing out challenge check lists for them to complete and return to their teacher. We will also have activities on the playground that celebrate kindness as well!

Happy 2023! Looking forward to another wonderful year working together with you and your student(s).
