Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Guardians,
The fourth marking period is here, and there are less than 45 days left before the last day of school. Third marking period grades can be viewed on Genesis at this time. Please reach out to your child’s guidance counselor or contact your child’s teacher to set up a parent conference if needed.
Currently, our underclassmen are finalizing their 2018-2019 schedule with their counselors. Please contact your child’s counselor if you have any questions or concerns about their schedule.
I want to remind you to be proactive with your child’s grades, attendance, and classroom attitude. The staff at Pemberton Township High School is here to serve. We will continue to do our best to meet the needs of all students.
As always, we have an open door policy. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely,
Eder Joseph
Principal

Attendance Matters
Daily attendance is an important factor for your child’s success in school. When students are not in school, they are not receiving high-quality instruction to help them succeed in class. A child is considered chronically absent if they miss 10 percent of the school year which equates to 18 days of school including unexcused and excused absences.
We understand that students will get sick sometimes and need to stay home. The important thing is to get to school as often as possible to help stay on track with assignments. When students are not in school, we notice because we care and we want students to be successful. If students think missing a day here or there won't matter, think again. By missing just one day every two weeks, students would be on track to miss 10 percent of the school year - and that can happen before you know it. Please reach out to the school if you have questions or concerns.
Spring has sprung! This is an exciting part of the year at school. Our seniors are well into their final marking period and are eagerly looking forward to transitioning into their future endeavors. With the excitement that comes with Spring and the end-of-year activities, we sometimes experience a tapering off of focus on academics with some of our students. Now is a good time to talk to your child about the importance of maintaining focus and finishing the year strong. I am sure that, with your support, they will finish strong. There is still a great deal of learning and work to do!
The rest of our students are also moving ahead with their academics and activities. They are excited that they have almost completed the year, and they are looking forward to passing into the next school year. It is exciting to see them take advantage of all that our school system offers. Athletics, fine arts, academics, clubs and school sponsored social events consume their time. Thanks to all of our families for your support as we start to wind down a great year.

The best way to stay on top of your child’s grades is through the use of Genesis. Genesis is a web-based student information system that provides grade management and viewing for teachers and students alike. Using Genesis, teachers are able to record grades and attendance for students to view at home.
Each student or parent using Genesis has a password-protected account. Grades uploaded by teachers are immediately accessible to students or parents logged in to their own account. If you have any questions about the use of Genesis and the features that will enable you to be more informed about your child’s grades and progress. Please reach out to the school if you need help with the portal.
All high school students have access to the Student Genesis Portal. Students can monitor their attendance, grades, discipline records, and missing work. Students can access this account by using the information below. Visit the school website and utilize the students and parents link to find access to the portal.
