The WJHS Panther Update
December 8, 2023
Joy to the Classroom!
When all anyone can think about is the approaching holiday, might as well learn about holidays! December is full of them! Check out our Media Center December Newsletter with ways people around the world celebrate in December, as well as a few more at the bottom of the page.
Graduation: While it may seem early to talk about graduation, we are already speaking with students about their academic standing and the SSLC hours that are required to walk the stage. As the semester comes to a close, Ms. Quattrone and Mr. Lipinski will be meeting with parents/guardians of students, who are currently in jeopardy of not participating in graduation activities.
Outdoor Education - It’s time to start planning for our 6th grade Outdoor Ed trip! Sixth grade parents, students, and families are invited to join us for an Informational Meeting on Mon., Dec. 11, 7:00 p.m. in the WJHS Media Center. There is no obligation to attend. Join us to hear what OE is all about! Questions? Please contact Jen Burisek (jburisek@cusd201.org).
** Please note there was a date change for this event. This is the correct date**
Student Council - We are counting down the 12 days until winter break with Spirit Days! We kicked off the fun on Thursday with Pajama Day and will continue next week. You can reference the 12 Spirit Days of Christmas below to find the theme for each day.
Student Council Fundraiser - Our Student Council will be selling World’s Finest Chocolate bars
for a $1 until December 22nd. Choose from six different varieties. What a great way to spread some cheer to your teachers, family, and friends.
Industrial Arts needs your help - Mrs. Stobl is still looking for donations of 2 X 4's (at least 24 in. long please) for a project she is working on with our 8th graders. If you have any you would like to donate, contact astrobl@cusd201.org.
Student Reminder - Chromebooks should be charged and ready to use every day. Please remind your student to charge them the night before, so they are ready to go the next day.
Mighty Oak Athletic - Ready for your children to transform this winter break? Encourage them to join our Strength & Agility Camp at Mighty Oak Athletic!
