Welcome Back to School!
Be informed.
Be Active.
Be your kid’s biggest fan.
Mark your calendar for Mustang Mania! This is when you receive your class list, get your locker assignment, join PTA, purchase spirit shirts and PE/Athletic uniforms, and get all your MISD forms signed. You start in the auditorium to pick up your information packet that has school forms to complete. As you pass down the hall, you turn everything in to the designated station and end in the cafeteria.

10. What does teaching or leadership mean to you?
My belief of teaching (school leadership is still teaching at its core) is best expressed by me in an acrostic:
Accessible to My Students
Dedicated to Learning
Determined to Bring Out the Best in My Students
Innovative in the Classroom/Office
Structured but Willing to Try New Things
Observant of Differences in My Students
Never Give Up on My Students
Nicole Valenzuela, 7th grade Counselor

This will be my 13th year in education, 9 of those year in elementary counseling. What I love about the school is the people. Everyone I have met has been so welcoming and helpful. It has a great sense of team.
Your secret talent? Kindness

A place you would really like to visit and why? I would like to visit Greece to see where all of the ancient philosophers lived. Maybe Rome too!
What 3 traits define you? Three traits that define me are honesty, hardworking and respect.
What is the weirdest job you ever had? I was the Bingo caller at the nursing home. It was the weirdest but most fulfilling.
What would you most like to tell your 13 year old self? I would tell myself “LEARN MATH!!!!”
- What does teaching or leadership mean to you? I want to assure that every child feels valued as a person and is pushed to reach their fullest potential.
