Spelling Bee Update
Dear Elementary Parents:
As previously communicated with parents, we are changing the way elementary Spelling Bees take place for USD 232. Because each elementary school can only have one representative move forward to the Johnson County Bee, each elementary school will now conduct a school-wide spelling bee as part of the Scripps National Spelling Bee program. The Spelling Bee helps inspire the exploration of words and celebrates academic achievement.
Student participation is completely voluntary and open to children in grades 3 through 5. Note, our middle schools conduct their own spelling bees.
All elementary spelling bees should be completed by December 9, 2022. Each school champion will then move on to compete in the Johnson County Spelling Bee.
At Clear Creek, we plan to host our spelling bee on November 28th at 2 p.m. Parents are invited. If you would like your child to participate in the school spelling bee, please contact the building principal no later than November 11, 2022.
The National Spelling Bee began in 1925 when nine newspapers joined together to host a spelling bee. The National Bee is administered on a not-for-profit basis by The E.W. Scripps Company from its headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Veteran's Day is coming!
It is our pleasure and honor to celebrate the Veterans of CCE. As the granddaughter, daughter and mother of veterans, it's always a special day in our family and I love sharing how proud I am of them with my CCE Family. This year, we will be honoring our Veterans by learning about Veterans Day on Wednesday, November 9th during our Specials Rotation. Students will be watching a slide show, reading a book, making cards and singing patriotic songs that Ms. Donovan has been teaching them all school year. We will also be putting together a slideshow of the day's events to share with you all.
If you have a special Veteran in your life or you are a veteran, we would love to add a picture to our slideshow. All you have to do is email them to me at email@example.com or upload them to this Google Photo Folder: https://photos.app.goo.gl/oCdEvWTKiGcYAkM1A.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me!

Lunch Reservations: UPDATE! Please Read!
We look forward to welcoming parents and guardians to our Parent Cafe Space now that the weather is getting cooler. Please use the link below to sign up.
Due to limited space, we have to limit the number of sign-ups! But, just like before, you are always welcome to take your students outside to our picnic tables in the courtyard, sit at one of our benches or tailgate at your car if there isn't space inside or if it happens to be a day we don't have indoor seating!
Since it has been awhile, we ask that if you are making reservations, that you bring lunch with you. We order lunch foods based on typical numbers for hot lunch and don't usually have enough to serve extra lunches to incoming parents.
Even if you are bringing more than one person with you to eat with your student, you only need to sign up for one spot! We have room to at our tables for 4 per student sign up.
Operation Christmas Information: Due By November 9th
Operation Christmas sign-ups are now being accepted! If you know of any families who can benefit from some holiday help this season, please send parents/guardians the attached information so they can get signed up to receive gifts for their kids. All forms can be returned to CCE either electronically or physically through November 5th!

Clear Creek Elementary Holiday Mart Vendor Application Saturday, November 19th, 9:00am – Noon
You are invited to display and sell your arts, crafts, or merchandise at the annual CCE Holiday Mart! This event is held at CCE during Winter Wonderland, where we have pictures with Santa, the fall Book Fair, food offerings, the CCE choir, and other holiday activities! We are looking for a variety of products to give CCE families a start to their holiday shopping…crafts, jewelry, food, hand bags, make-up, home decor, Christmas items, and much more! Please feel free to share this application with friends and family who may be interested in participating.
Applications will be accepted by Megan Finley until November 4. You can e-mail the form to MLFinley17@gmail.com OR send it home with Lucy Finley (3rd Grade, Leonard). Priority will first be given to CCE families. We try our best not to allow duplicate vendors, and applications will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. Vendors are solely responsible for sales, sales tax, payments received, and delivery of items. All vendors will be contacted by November 7, and if your application is accepted, your payment will be due by November 18.
Due to our configuration, only a limited number of tables will have access to electricity. Vendors requesting electricity will be assigned in the order that applications are received.
Questions? Please contact the Winter Wonderland coordinator Megan Finley at MLFinley17@gmail.com.
