Tumuaki Korero
Tēnā koutou
Welcome to Week 7. This week we start sharing our newsletter in a slightly different format. This will help readability on all devices.
This week we are at fundamentals at Stadium 2000 each day. We leave school at 10.30 am and return at the end of the day. This is our main swimming program, and it’s been great to see everyone attending and involved. Staff have all commented that it is great to see the progression of skills over the week so far. We are posting pictures via Seesaw for you to see the children in action.
You will be aware of the increasing number of cases of COVID in the community. We had our first case at SCS confirmed this week. Information was sent out to families via Hero. Here is the link to the information if you missed it. We ask that you continue to monitor for symptoms and keep sick children at home. Also please let the school know if your child returns a positive test - call the office 03 5705514 or email principal@springcreek.school.nz).
We have had some ongoing issues with the Community Recycling in the staff car parking area. The fence has been hit and is now broken. Also someone local has been walking in with multiple rubbish bags and dumping them in the car park. To clarify these are recycling bins, not a rubbish collection area. If the recycling is full, please do not leave bags here. They do not get collected when the bins are changed. We have referred this to the police. If you know anything about either of these incidents, please let the school know. A big thank you to Joe Bak for removing the three rubbish bags, as the council had not been able to do this. Pictures are later in the newsletter for your information. We want to have this facility in the community and ask the community to support the respectful use of this area. Weekly dumping and vandalism of our fences is not acceptable.
Take care everyone.
