What did we learn this week?

Reading: We read the big book "Gingerbread Man." We talked about re-reading and how important that is. We also talked about text features and sequence of events in the story. It was also fun to act it out.

Writing: Students continued using their first editing strategy called "dot and say." They continued to use the "Who, Did What" and added "When" in their sentences this week.. We are close to moving to lined journals and two or more sentences.

Phonics: We learned the poem "Gingerbread" and the students found rhyming and HFW. We continued to work on Consonant, Vowel, Consonant words (CVC words). We also learned a new word, "with."

Math: We worked on patterns all week. We learned three different type of patterns. (AB, ABB, and ABC) We used cubes, shapes and created our own patterns on a gingerbread art project.
