Message from the Principal
Congratulations to Mr. Douglas Waclawski on his selection as Principal of Homer High School for the 2013-14 school year. I look forward to making this leadership transition as smooth as possible. I invested the last four years of my life serving the students and staff at Homer High and it has been a true pleasure.
Our students have consistently demonstrated their academic excellence, their creativity through performing arts, their community outreach through a variety of senior service projects, and their resiliency in having met numerous challenges head-on this year and rising to the top when there were days that seemed almost impossible to endure. I stand behind what I have repeatedly said - the Homer community has great kids and it is imperative that, as a community, we continue to support them.
To the Class of 2013, it has been an honor to have served as your principal for the past four years. On May 20th, the community will come out to recognize you and celebrate your accomplishments. Congratulations and best wishes for what I know will be a successful future.
Homer High School Receives SILVER Award by U.S. News - Second Year in a Row
Once again, Homer High has proven to be a top-ranked school in the state and on the national level as well. HHS was recently recognized by U.S. News and World Report with a SILVER award with a rank of #4 in the State of Alaska. This marks the second year in a row that Homer High has remained in the top ten high schools in the state and the top 5% in the nation. Congratulations to our students and teachers for achieving this academic honor.
