My name is Isslam Moubarak. I believe after reading about my educational and professional experiences, you will find my qualifications to match any career opportunities you may have available.
I graduated with a Bachelors Degree from the University of Michigan with a dual- degree in Psychology and Sociology. My education has allowed me to be versatile in the work field, and eventually led me to discover my career-path. I have a strong passion for making a positive difference in people’s lives, and I believe I would be an asset to your organization.
I have experience as a Family Service Worker at the YWCA Head Start. It is a non-profit organization and pre-school program in which serviced lower income families. My job duties included recruitment of eligible families, acting as a liaison and advocate between community resources and families, crisis intervention, promotion of the program, and case management of 72 families.
During my time at the YWCA, I have proven my ability to work with an interdisciplinary team. I have also developed interpersonal skills and strong professional relationships with clients, including individuals, families, and community groups.
I have many years of experience working with non-profit organizations as a volunteer. Currently, I am a Group Consul for an organization called Internations. I held this position in Beirut, and then continued with it in Detroit. As Group Consul, I organize events for expatriates so they can connect on social, business, and experience levels.
Think Detroit PAL is another organization I have had the pleasure of volunteering for. The organization strives to build character in young people through athletic, academic, and leadership programs. I conducted interviews with parents to receive feedback in order to enhance the quality of the program.
Blight Busters is a non-profit organization that improves the city of Detroit by renovating houses, demolishing abandoned buildings, and building homes for Michigan families. I volunteered and participated in the destruction and cleaning of abandoned Detroit buildings.
My educational and professional experiences have taught me how to successfully make judgment-calls and decisions, data handling and entry, conflict resolution, teamwork, confidentiality, and how to truly sympathize with others. Furthermore, my experiences have given me the ability to work with many different types of people. I know I could be an asset to your team. I am able to take on the responsibility of this position immediately, and I have the enthusiasm and determination to ensure I make a success of it.
