GRADE 5 END OF YEAR PARADE
We would like to invite you to attend a special SEND OFF parade for our 5th Graders. The send-off will be held on Friday, June 16 at Carver Elementary and we would like you to arrive prior to 10:30 AM.
Please keep in mind that parking is limited. Parking across the street at National EMS is at your own risk. The event will begin at 10:30 am and will be held outdoors, behind the school and we will have a special viewing section for you. If the weather prevents an outdoor parade, we will have an alternate plan. Please stay tuned.
Dismissal Plan:
Because it is an early release day, we will need to know if you are dismissing ONLY your 5th grader by submitting your information in PICK UP PATROL and they will be dismissed to you on or around 11:15 AM.
If you have other children in the school, and you want to pick them up, you will need to get into the PICK-Up line which will begin at 11:30 AM. Please remember to add this dismissal information into Pick Up Patrol.
Thank you for your support. We appreciate your patience and understanding with us this year!
Staying hydrated at school
Please help your child stay hydrated in school by sending them with a fresh water bottle daily. Water is essential to your child’s health and should make up the majority of their fluid intake.
Please avoid sending your students with any sports beverages, soda, coffee drinks, or energy drinks such as Gatorade, Prime, etc. These can contain empty calories, sugars, caffeine, unnecessary chemicals, and dyes. Some of these beverages may not be recommended for consumption by children under age 18, as they can contribute to problems related to nervousness, trouble sleeping, stomach aches, and headaches.
We will help by reminding students to bring their water bottles and they can fill them at the school filling station.
Water is best for supporting cognition, preventing dental problems, and maintaining a healthy weight! For more information, see https://kidshealth.org/en/parents/power-drinks.htmlIMPORTANT INFORMATION FROM THE SCHOOL NURSES
If your student has any medication remaining at school (i.e., daily medications, inhalers, Epipens, Benadryl, etc.), it must be picked up by Thursday, June 14, 2023, or the morning of June 15, 2023, at the very latest. We are unable to store medication at school over the summer and must dispose of any medications remaining beyond this date.
Please see below for more information if your student will need medication in school for the 2023-2024 school year:

MRS. TIAGO, SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER
One accomplishment for me is that I was the first to graduate college in my family.
There are a couple things that motivate and inspire me. The first thing is my son, he motivates me on a daily basis and seeing the world through his eyes is an amazing experience. Another thing that motivates and inspires me daily are my students who continue to inspire me to do better and be a better educator. They are always challenging me and teaching me new things.
My favorite things are everyday adventures and spending time with my husband and son. I enjoy summer time activities of going by the pool, camp fires, and many zoo and farm trips with my son.
Something my dad always told me was "Believe in yourself and Be You, don't ever change for anyone" this is something I have always remembered from him.
If I asked my students they would laugh and say "worry about yourself" is something I often say.

My goal is to pass on to my family the importance of being successful both academically and socially. I want to continue to learn something new each and every day and live life as a whole by showing compassion to kindness to others.
One of my accomplishments was working full-time while earning my Master’s Degree.
My grandchildren motivate and inspire me. They give me the courage to try new things while teaching and living the important values in life.
Reading, going to the beach and spending time with my family and friends are just a few of my favorite things.
