As people may know the Eiffel Tower is one of the most beautiful monuments in Paris. The Eiffel Tower is important because it has many uses other then commemorating the French Revolution.It helped in WWI, like intercepting enemy radio communications.It has inspired many replicas , 30 around the world.In addition a lot of time and effort was spent making this great monument.

Reasons of building

In fact Alexandre-Gustave Eiffel built the Eiffel Tower.It was built to commemorate the 100-year anniversary of the French Revolution.It was constructed for the 1889 World Fair in honor of the French Revolution."The Eiffel Tower was built for the 1889 Paris Exposition and was not intended to be permanent." Alexandre-Gustave wanted to make it the tallest structure in the world.History.com states,"...March 1889 stood nearly 1,000 feet high and was the tallest structure in the world...In 1957,an antenna was added that increased the structures height by 65 feet, making it taller than the Chrysler building..."

Lot of supplies and hard work

On the other hand, a lot of supplies was used when building the Eiffel tower.Factslides.com states,The paint on the Eiffel Tower weighs as much as 10 elephants.1,665 steps are needed to climb all the way to the top of the Eiffel Tower.300 workers ,18,038 pieces of wrought iron and 2.5 million rivets were needed to build the Eiffel Tower.If the Eiffel Tower was Built today , it would cost about U.S. $31 million."

Uses for Eiffel Tower

In addition, thier were many uses for the Eiffel Tower.Factslides.com states,"There are over 30 replicas of the Eiffel Tower around the world." So it inspired many replicas.History.com states,"... During WWI, the Eiffel Tower intercepted enemy radio communications...""...Relayed Zeppelin alerts and was used to dispatch emergency troop reinforcements."The Eiffel Tower was going to be demolished but was saved as a giant radio antenna .

In conclusion

The Eiffel Tower is important because it has many uses other than commemorating the French Revolution.The Eiffel Tower is interesting because it was built for the Anniversary of the French Revolution and ended up being a great monument ,lots of time,money and supplies was put into making the Eiffel Tower, and it had many other uses.Everyone visiting Paris should take a look at this beautiful monument.
