24 Hour Adoration- Thursdays during Lent

Prepare yourself this Lenten Season by spending an hour with Jesus in Adoration! We are extending Adoration for 24 hours from 9am on Thursdays to 8am on Fridays for the six Thursdays of Lent (February 18 & 25, March 4, 11, 18, & 25). We are requesting adorers to commit to one hour of prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. Specifically, we are needing adorers during the overnight hours from midnight-8:00am preferably for all six nights, but not required, and would like two adorers per hour. Please contact Lynn Blackwell (Lblack260@comcast.net) including your name, email, cell number, and preferred hour of prayer. If you need an explanation of Eucharistic Adoration or what you do at Adoration, check out this website www.omvusa.org. Please prayerfully consider spending an hour with Jesus.

Indiana's Tax Credit Scholarship

Please consider an important donation this Christmas season!

Indiana's Tax Credit Scholarship program was created in 2009 as a way to give families who meet income guidelines an opportunity to send their child to a participating private school. Through the generosity of Hoosiers, private donations are given as scholarships so students may attend a private school that may not have been an option to them otherwise.

The Institute for Quality Education (IQE) is the largest of six state-approved scholarship granting organizations (SGOs) in Indiana. Since the beginning of this program, SGOs have awarded over $45 million dollars in scholarships to more than 35,000 Hoosier students in partnership with more than 300 private schools statewide.

Without these important Tax Credit Scholarships, we have several families that would be unable to choose Holy Name for their children's education. This year we were blessed with the ability to award over $23,000 in scholarships to our Holy Name students. This is impossible without generous donors like you!

Individuals or businesses that donate to the SGO receive tax credits equal to 50% of the amount donated. Donate before the end of 2020 to receive this credit!

Tickets are on sale now!

Our Mardi Gras Raffle takes place each year before the start of Lent. This event is the largest fundraiser for the school, and raises funds for various needs, including retaining excellent faculty, infrastructure sustainability, enhanced technology, and tuition assistance.

Due to COVID restrictions, Holy Name Catholic School will not be hosting an in-person event for Mardi Gras this year. We are very sad to be canceling this fun event, but know it is necessary to ensure the health and safety of our Holy Name community.

Even though we will not have an in-person event, we will still be hosting a raffle drawing and other auction events. These will take place virtually on Saturday, February 13. More information will be coming as we get closer to the date, but please SAVE THE DATE!

Tickets are $50 this year, since there is no dinner to attend. This enters you into a raffle to win the grand prize of $3,000. There will also be four additional winners- $100, $250, $500, & $1,000.

Tickets can be purchased from any student in grades 5, 6, 7. You may also purchase a ticket in the school office. Any school family that purchases a ticket by Friday, February 5 will earn an out-of-uniform pass for the week of February 8-12.

Thank you for your continued support of this largest fundraiser of the year! Go Giants!

Roncalli High School Curriculum Night Presentation

Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for the Class of 2025 Curriculum Night this past Tuesday. For those that could not participate, please find the link to the presentation below. Questions can be directed to Jessica Engel at jengel@roncalli.org.

Roncalli Parent Representatives

Roncalli High School is seeking Parent Representatives from each South Deanery school/parish. We are looking for parents to serve as advocates for Roncalli in the community! What will this entail, you ask? Please see details below:

  • Act as "Parking Lot Promoters"...if Roncalli is being discussed, you can act as our reps!
  • Meet with Roncalli admissions and administrative staff to discuss recruitment and retention strategies. Times are TBD as of now.
  • Possibly provide a testimony at a school/parish event.

If you are interested, please contact Allie Ross at aross@roncalli.org. St. John XXIII, pray for us.

APPLY TODAY! Roncalli Application for Admission

Roncalli is excited to welcome the Class of 2025 next fall! As a reminder, the Application for Admission is now available online at https://apps.roncalli.org/application. You CAN fill out the application before your student takes the High School Placement Test.

Once the application is complete and the $100 registration fee is received, you may continue the registration process. Scheduling appointments with your student's counselor will begin in less than a month, so don't delay! Please contact Director of Admissions Allie Ross at aross@roncalli.org or (317) 787-8277, ext. 243 with any questions.

My Story, R Family

Throughout the month of February, we will be featuring couples who met in some shape or form because of Roncalli, or they are currently working together at RHS! This week's video features Gerard and Kim Striby. Their love and commitment to each other and Roncalli is a wonderful way for us all to kickstart this month.

Royals Lacrosse

It is with great excitement and hope that we share that Indy Junior ROYALS Lacrosse registration is now open for the 2021 spring season! We are hoping and praying we can get enough registrants to field teams and are already working on scheduling games. Please sign up as soon as possible if your child is interested in playing. Spread the word and let us know if you have any questions!

The elementary and middle school wrestling season begins on November 3rd and ends on March 13th, can join at any time, with practices and weight lifting on Tuesday & Thursday evenings at Roncalli High School. We will participate in a full competition schedule. More details can be found on our website - roncalliwrestlingfoundation.org or contact Coach McClurg @ 317-501-8306 wrestling@roncalli.org.
