Our Classroom of Characters
A Challenging Week
As most of you know, I pulled, stretched, tore...the left back hamstring and have been hobbling around on crutches since. The doctors sentiments, "Ms. Murk, I think your NFL career is over." With a weekend of rest, I am convinced he was correct! It's a good thing that I prefer the classroom to the football field.
In my absence, your children have been busy learning to identify cause and effect, comparing and contrasting language, and facts and opinions, and they continued reading and math units as normal. While healing, I have been sending instructions to substitutes daily! I am so excited to return at 70% mobility on Monday!
I know that a week of substitutes in and out can be quite challenging to the routine.
Thank you for your patience and good thoughts.
Remember to check the school website for important information!

Once upon a time, Angel Guppy lived in the coral reef with his mother and father.
Everyday he swam to school with the other guppies and learned from Miss Puffer Fish.
On Monday, Miss Puffer Fish asked Angel for his math home fun.
He says, “I left it at home.” His fin shivered and grew just a little bit.
Miss Puffer Fish puffed a little and said, “Bring it tomorrow.”
He swam home, but it took longer than usual because his fin was a little too big.
When he got home his mom and dad asked him if he was doing his home fun.
He was busy playing Minecraft in survival, but answered, “Yes, I am doing my math.”
His fin shivered and grew just a little bit.
On Tuesday, it took longer than usual to get to school.
When he arrived at school, Miss Puffer Fish asked Angel for his math home fun.
He said, “I left it at home.” His fin shivered and grew a little bit more.
Miss Puffer Fish puffed a little more and said, “Bring it tomorrow.”
She is a very patient teacher.
He swam home, but it took longer than usual because his fin was even bigger.
He had trouble balancing.
When he finally got home his mom and dad asked him if he is doing his home fun.
He’s busy building with computerized Legos, but answered, “Yes, I am doing my math.”
His fin shivered and grew a little bit more.
It took a lot longer to get to school the next day because his fin directed him in circles.
When he finally arrived at school, Miss Puffer Fish asked Angel for his science home fun.
He said, “I left it at home.” His fin shivered and grew a lot more like a lion's mane.
It took longer than usual because he felt like he was fighting Godzilla with each stroke.
He swam home, but it took way longer than usual.
He swam more like a snail than a cheetah.
He was so lopsided that he was tipping over like The Leaning Tower of Pisa.
When he finally got home his mom and dad ask him, "What has happened to your fin?"
