Remote Learning Starts November 30th
We hope that you all had a safe and relaxing Thanksgiving and figured out new and creative ways to celebrate with family near and far! Even during this unusual time, there is so much to be thankful for. The Coyote Creek school staff is so thankful for all of you and appreciate all that you are doing to work together to teach your child.
Just a reminder that we will be transitioning into full remote learning starting on Monday, November 30th. Your teacher will be sending you more information about what each day looks like for your student. If you have any questions or need any support, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Fingers crossed that we can all safely be back together in January.

LIBRARY NEWS
ADOPT A FAMILY
In the past, our school has adopted numerous families in need for the holidays. This year we are continuing with this tradition, but doing it pandemic style :) As a school we are planning on helping out two families who are in need of everyday items (food, jackets, shoes, etc.), as well as a few wish list items. We are going to do all our purchasing through Walmart-E cards. If you'd like a little more information about our families, please email Jennifer Goodman jlgoodman@dcsdk12.org
Directions on donating:
1) Here is the link to the card- https://giftcards.walmart.com/ip/Basic-Blue-Walmart-eGift-Card/653984410 You can donate as little as $5.00, or as much as you want. All the money raised will go directly to our families based on their needs. All items will be purchased by the coordinator, Juli (she will be providing receipts)
2) The recipient of the gift card is Julianne Clay and you will need to provide her email J.Clay@dpcolo.org
3) Please put Coyote Creek Elementary in the "your message" box, to ensure our families get our donations.
4) Donations are due by December 4, 2020.
This year has been difficult for all of us, but I am hopeful that the gift of giving to those less fortunate will lift all of us up.
Thank you!
COUNSELING CORNER
Before we left for break, I had been in almost every classroom to introduce or expand on what it means to be MINDFUL. Practicing mindful awareness can help us all reduce stress, manage big emotions, and improve focus. Start with taking a few slow, deep breaths and notice your heart rate slow and the intensity of your emotions soften. Our 1st and 2nd Grade classes made Breathing Sticks out of pipe cleaners and beads and then practiced Breathing with Bulldog. Our older students learned that using various grounding techniques, involving all 5 senses can also calm the nervous system. Read this article and get a free printable to hang up at home!
Want to know more about mindfulness? Check out these resources and find more as I continue to add them to my website.
