Remote Review's Questions
Rachel shared some questions that came up during Friday's faculty meeting. My answers are in bold. Please do not hesitate to reach out with more questions as you are working on your remote reviews.

If we reach out to parents for feedback then you still want our reports turned into you by the June 1st, correct? Would that be a working document that we continue to add to as we get feedback then?
Yes to both questions
Teachers were still confused on when it is okay to use NM and they would like you to add a blurb to parents so they know it is okay.
NM is when a standard wasn’t taught. I am aware of the grade levels within our building who had to modify pacing. I will add a note about NM to parents.
Teachers were wondering if you could add a blank copy of a K, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 report to your parent newsletter so that they see it in one place, but do not mention that teachers will be asking for collaboration as this sets the expectation to parents that all teachers will be doing this and not everyone was sure they wanted to do that. I tried to explain that this was not a directive but something that we could do if it made us feel better.
I will share an example for parents to see in my newsletter—I will discuss that this is a collaborative/ partnership, giving teacher's autonomy on how they want to collaborate with parents.
Teachers wanted to know if there could be common markings for students who did not return work. For instance all of the teachers that had the Shoenbornes want to be able to all mark NM or a 1 to be consistent about how to show they did not get work from that family. There was also general discussion about consistency with what a 3, 2, 1 mean in our building.
If teachers taught the standard and the student did not participate in remote learning mark NM and explain in the comments the student was unable to participate in remote learning.
If you are confident the student was able to perform the skill independently, mark them as a 3. Most likely 3’s will be less common.
3- Student was able to perform this skill independently.
2-Student was able to perform this skill with support.
1-Student needs more practice to demonstrate this skill.
