Introducing Sydney Eubanks, Our Librarian for Next Year
Hello! My name is Sydney Eubanks and I am thrilled to be the new librarian at River Place Elementary in the fall!
I grew up as a "third culture kid," meaning I grew up in a culture different from the one I was born into. Born in Houston, I am a true Texan. I moved around the world until I was 18, living in London, Singapore, and Paris. Living abroad provided me with a unique perspective of the world and the ability to understand and appreciate various cultures.
I graduated from Texas A&M University (Whoop!) in 2015 and started a career in non‐profit work, but after two years of fundraising and event planning, I decided I wanted to get back in a classroom. I began my teaching career in 2017, and in 2020 I decided to take a step further with my own education to pursue a Master’s Degree in Library Sciences at Texas Woman's University. I will graduate in August!
I have been married for six years, and I am the proud mother of a sassy tabby cat named Bacon. When I am not in the classroom, you can find me reading, baking, traveling, or hanging out with my husband and family.
Although this will be my first year as a librarian, I have always had a passion for reading and learning, and I hope to bring that passion and enthusiasm to all of my students. I am so excited to become a member of the RPE family and share my love of books and learning with you all. Go Titans!
