Greetings from Hoover;

I can't believe that we are entering November 2021 already! what a year this has been so far! I am super excited to see some of the traditions, which we had prior to the pandemic, are making a come back! One of these traditions was the Halloween Parade! Last I checked, our Halloween Parade has been going on here at Hoover for the past twenty years here at Hoover! wow! I am happy to report that the parade turned out great! we had so many great creative costumes and lots of parents watching the event through the fences on the field! Thanks everyone for making this a great event. Thank you teachers for making the time from your busy instructional time, to be able to have the parade and create community! Go Huskies! I am adding a few pics below.

November marks the end of the first trimester, report cards and conferences are just around the corner. This is also the perfect time for self reflections and perhaps much needed adjustments as we enter the second trimester.

Here are a few things that we can all reflect on as we move on.

1. What is something that your student/teacher/parents did in this first trimester that you think will help you improve in the second trimester?
   
2. What is something you accomplished as a student/teacher/parent that you are proud of?
3. For students, what was the most challenging part of the first trimester and how did you overcome such challenge?
   
4. What is something that was hard for you at the start of the year but it has become easier as we move into the second trimester?
   
5. For students, in what area do you feel you made your biggest improvements?
6. For students, In what areas do you feel that you still have to improve?
   
7. For students, how was your daily online attendance? How will you continue signing in or how will you plan on improving your daily connection?
   
8. For parents, How was your connection with your teachers?
   
9. If you changed your phone number, or have a new address, did you provide the office with updated information?
   
10. For parents, do you know your child's schedule?
    
11. What is your plan for the second trimester?

Conferences/Nov 22rd and Nov 23rd.

Parent-teacher conferences help in the communication of areas of excellence and support and they also serve to provide specific ideas of how to improve performance in school. At Hoover, we also aim to use parent conferences as a platform to make a lasting bond with parents which in turn will increase the likelihood of academic success for your child.

Teacher-Parents conferences will take place on the following days: Nov 22nd from 8-3 and Nov 23rd from 8-3. Please make sure that are checking your child's backpack for a conference schedule.

please ensure that all assignments are submitted prior to the teachers prior to that date.

Suggested questions to ask during conferences

1. How do you best prefer to communicate? (Email? Phone? Text? Notes?)

2. What do you see as my child’s strengths?

3. What do you think are the academic challenges for my child?

4. What would you do if my child were struggling academically with something?

5. How is my child doing with his/her assignments?

6. How do you support kids in their social development?

7. Is my child on grade level for reading? What about math, science and writing? How can I help?

8. How will the school handle state testing and prep this year?

9. Can we talk more about your homework policy and how my child is doing with homework?

10. What can I do at home to support what you’re doing in the classroom?

Our school office will continue to provide first class customer services to all students and families Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm. ¡No puedo creer que ya estemos entrando en noviembre de 2021! ¡Qué año ha sido este hasta ahora! ¡Estoy muy emocionado de ver que algunas de las tradiciones que teníamos antes de la pandemia están regresando! ¡Una de estas tradiciones fue el desfile de Halloween! ¡La última vez que verifiqué, nuestro desfile de Halloween se ha estado llevando a cabo aquí en Hoover durante los últimos veinte años! ¡Wow! ¡Me complace informar que el desfile resultó genial! ¡tuvimos tantos disfraces creativos y muchos padres viendo el evento a través de las vallas en el campo! Gracias a todos por hacer de este un gran evento. ¡Gracias maestros por tomarse el tiempo de su ajetreado tiempo de instrucción para poder tener el desfile y crear una comunidad! ¡Vamos Huskies! Noviembre marca el final del primer trimestre, las boletas de calificaciones y las conferencias están a la vuelta de la esquina. Este es también el momento perfecto para reflexiones personales y quizás ajustes muy necesarios al entrar en el segundo trimestre.

2. ¿Qué es algo que logró como estudiante / maestro / padre de lo que está orgulloso?

3. Para los estudiantes, ¿cuál fue la parte más desafiante del primer trimestre y cómo superaron ese desafío?

4. ¿Qué es algo que le resultó difícil al comienzo del año, pero que se ha vuelto más fácil a medida que avanzamos hacia el segundo trimestre?

5. Para los estudiantes, ¿en qué área cree que hizo sus mayores mejoras?

6. Para los estudiantes, ¿en qué áreas sienten que aún deben mejorar?

Conferencias / 22 de noviembre y 23 de noviembre.

Las conferencias de padres y maestros ayudan en la comunicación de áreas de excelencia y apoyo y también sirven para proporcionar ideas específicas sobre cómo mejorar el desempeño en la escuela. En Hoover, utilizamos las conferencias de padres como una plataforma para crear un vínculo duradero con los padres, lo que a su vez aumentará la probabilidad de éxito académico de su hijo.
