Language Arts
This week's high frequency word was "to" and our letter sound of the week was the letter "Ii". The students worked hard on identify the letter sound that a word begins with as well as the letter sound it ends with. -Ip word family words such as dip, sip, tip, etc. were read and written this week as well. We also talked about visualization while reading as well as the components of a sentence.
Math
This week we began a quick unit on positional words. These kids have got them down pat! Next week we will begin discussion left and right (always a challenge!) and positional numbers (first, second, third, etc.). Try and incorporate positional words into your discussions at home this weekend and see if your kiddo can identify the ones you used.
Science
This science unit focuses on the growing and changing of plants and animals. Some discussion topics covered were how animals, how they move, and how animals are alike/different.
