Supreme Court of the U.S.
The Supreme Court consists of eight associate justices, and a chief justice. Usually when the Supreme Court is needed it involves important questions about the Constitution or federal law.
U.S. Court of Appeals
Of the 94 judicial districts, they are organized into 12 regional circuits, all of the 12 circuits are what make up the U.S. Court Appeals. This court hears appeals from the district courts located in the 12 circuits.
U.S. District Courts
This type of court gets to hear nearly all types of federal cases. All types include both criminal and civil matters.
