Divergent
The main lesson you learn is to follow your heart. You may feel ashamed and that you have disappointed the people you care about but in the end it's better to feel shame for a short amount of time than live with regret for the rest of your life. Divergent has taught me that it is okay to be different, in a world where people lose their real self to society, standing up for your identity needs to occur. If you really want something you should never give up, the easiest way to lose is to quit.
The Fault in our Stars
You are not defined by your problems, the greatest lesson to learn. Your problems do not make you unless you will them to. Everyone goes through their own struggles but you cannot let them define you, live your own life. Life doesn't come easy and things most likely never work out and that's okay. Nothing in life is set in stone and it's okay that people come and go.
Goosebumps
True fear comes from within. it teaches how to overcome the worst of your inner fears through means of reading. It taught me to pick my friends wisely, because I wouldn't want to be trapped in the mirror with them forever... we have a problem. The only one who can solve the problems in life is yourself. Finally.... stay out of the basement, it's not the safest place.
Hardy Boys
The Hardy Boys have taught me to enjoy my sense of adventure. Every problem that may come awry can be solved, no matter what age. When approaching these problems you need to do so as a detective. The Hardy Boys taught me to always do right because doing wrong never amounts to anything positive.
Hachet
Once the plane crashed, everything that happened involved struggles of both internal and external relations. In the face of grave danger and overwhelming odds, he survives. It taught me that even in extreme conditions you can calm your mind. To think positively is quite possibly the only thing that allows you to get through. The fight between man and nature is more magnified with every mistake that occurs. In a matter of minutes small mistakes could turn into disasters. The survival lessons are certainly important but they transfer to everyday life, being secluded from society feeling along or having problems which are animals in the book and how regardless of how beat up he becomes, there is always a way out.
The Hunger Games
I was taught that sacrifice is the way to maturity. Once her little sister Prim was called she sacrificed her life for her sister's. As she moved step by step toward the podium she had accepted her chance, as you move through life step by step you sacrifice for family, friends and significant individuals. As you move through the steps the only thing that can ensure your survival is yourself. You have to realize what you need in order to prosper and thrive, and the knowledge you gain is by your own mind overtime.
Pride and Prejudice
This novel has taught me to stand strong in myself, even when things are bad. I have to say i'm a sap for a good romance novel but that's not everything, it must build from a strong friendship. When it comes to parents you cannot hide from your problems, you must stand strong and state your peace.
Thousand Splendid Suns
Before the war Afghanistan was free and thrived, while still holding dark secrets. The power of women shines through the oppression. In a society where men are put to a higher standard it teaches that being the minority does not mean you have to hide but rather find the way to the stop, not letting anything hold you back.
The Fifth Wave
This taught me that family always comes first. You never know how much you need them until something bad happens or they are no longer with you. If you have a bad feeling about someone just like Cassie did about the people, you don't need to be around them. The only person you can trust is yourself, everyone has a secret agenda.
The Berenstain Bears
My childhood was changed by this book, teaching me the value of truth. Lies only get bigger and bigger and result in a moral disposition since you know the difference between right and wrong. Messy rooms are never good when it comes to organization and can affect the whole house. Junk food never goes well and does more harm than good and having manners is the real key to respect. Chores are important and do not magically do themselves, and if mama won't do it you better.
