The 3rd Marking Period closed on Friday, March 25. While it was an asynchronous day for students, STEM teachers were here at school compiling grades and collecting last minute work for students.

The newest Report Cards will be posted to Home Access Center this Thursday, March 31. Again, we will not be printing report cards for all students, however we will do so upon request. If you would like a paper copy sent home, please request it by emailing Ms. Jones or Ms. Dixon (; or calling 610-447-3650.

Home Access Center (HAC) Sign-Up

The HAC is where you will find your student's report cards and interim reports. Not only that, visiting the HAC will allow you to check your student's grades and attendance on a daily basis.

If you do not have your HAC set up yet, email Ms. Misha Memon ( She will reply with your username, password and a link to the log in page.

Spring Recess

It might be cold today, but Spring Break is right around the corner!

All CUSD schools will be closed during the week of April 11. School will resume on Tuesday, April 19.

Admissions Season Has Started...

We have officially begun the 2022 Admissions Season!

Our new application will be available online beginning Friday, April 1. We accept applications for all students entering grades 7-12 in the 2022-23 school year. Be sure to spread the word!

8th Grade Must Re-Apply

Each year, STEM 8th Graders who wish to continue on to high school here must re-apply. Our returning students undergo the same application process as those students who attend other schools. If you have an 8th Grader, please make sure they complete their application as soon as possible.

PSSA & Keystone Exams

Each year, students in grades 3-8 are required to participate in PSSA exams. Also, high school students currently enrolled in Algebra I, Biology, or English II must take Keystone Exams in those subject areas. Since we have students in Grades 7-12, testing season is very busy here at STEM.

This year, testing will begin during the last week of April. PSSA's will be first, and our Middle School students will take their exams between April 26 and May 6. Keystone exams will follow and be held between May 16 and May 27.

Please mark your calendar for these dates, as attendance is very important. More information about PSSA's and Keystones is included in the letter below from Chief Academic Office, Dr. Sutton.

SAT - April 26

STEM Juniors will take the SAT in school on Tuesday, April 26. For many of them, this will be their first experience taking this exam. We have been working hard to prepare them here - please make sure your 11th Grader is ready to go on the 26th.

NOCTI Exams - CTE Seniors

Seniors enrolled in Engineering and Communications Technology programs will be taking their NOCTI exams in April as well. The written portion will be on April 27 & 28, with the performance tasks taking place on April 29.

AP Exams

Students enrolled in Advanced Placement (AP) courses will also have their culminating exams in May. If your student is in an AP class, ask them when their exam will be taking place. Remember, a passing grade (3 or higher out of 5) in an AP course results in college credit!

On Tuesday, March 15, masks became optional for students and staff in the Chester Upland School District. This change is consistent with practices in neighboring school districts and is aligned with the most recent guidance from CDC. Please read the letter below from Dr. Parkinson for more information regarding the move to mask optional.

Since transitioning to optional masking last week, we have continued to provide masks to students, staff and guests who request them. Many students and staff members are continuing to wear them while in the building. Additionally, our daily temperature screening and other Covid safety protocols will continue.
