Rhino Weekly Connection
1.9.23
Note from Interim Principal Mrs. Smetzer!
Happy 2023! Let me first start by saying how much I am truly enjoying being a part of this school. It has only been a week, but in many ways, I feel like I've been here much longer than that, building relationships with your kiddos and our amazing staff. In these first few days of the new year, students have had opportunities to connect with their classmates, become reacquainted with classroom roles and expectations, and dive into fun and engaging learning.
Some highlights for me over the last week include - practicing yoga positions during library time; reading aloud to kinder students; sitting in a Q and A session with 4th graders; and being a part of our first assembly of the year, welcoming Angevine band, choir, and orchestra musicians to perform for the school.
We are planning our first principal coffee talk for Thursday, January 19 at 8:00 am. Please considering joining us in the library for coffee and snacks. I look forward to getting to know you!
In this week's update you will find:
- Attendance reminders
- MLK-no school announcement
- Ryan Steam night information
- Karate Club details
- Kristin Mullen introduction
- GT announcements
- PTA update
- Viewing grades instructions
- other previous details and reminders
Take Care,
Kristen Smetzer
