Math Counts

Brayden Hendrix placed second in the individual 7-8 competition. David Garcia was tied for tenth and Ashley Pantoja-Torres was only one point away.


In the 6th grade individual competition, Colin McMahon placed fourth and Emberlee Vierra placed sixth. Gunnar Lee was tied for tenth and Yatziri Martinez was just two points away.


In the team competition, our 6th grade team 1 placed third. Our 7-8 team 1 placed fifth, but they were ¼ of a point from fourth and ¾ of a point from third. In fact, they were two team questions away from winning the whole thing. Way to represent Eagles!

Karate Yellow Belts

Congratulations to Max Peluso, Emberlee Vierra, and Klara Kiss for testing for and receiving their yellow belts in karate! These students selected karate as their 8th-hour elective course and worked hard to earn their belts!

Saskia was invited to be a part of the Ft. Lewis Honor Band! In February, she will go to participate in an evening concernt. She represents 1 out of only 70 in the state who get to be selected for this honor. Saskia plays the trumpet!

Getting an hour of IXL math practice completed each week is easy!


During the school weeks, this is how time per week is calculated:

Time count starts on Saturday and runs through Friday morning. If students start on Saturday, it is only 10 minutes per day of work. If they wait until Monday to start, it is 15 minutes a day. If they’re not done by Friday morning, teachers work with them during our plan time to make sure they finish.

Celebrate the Beat has made four magical episodes, teaching dancers from four of our valued communities, and they will be airing on Rocky Mountain PBS soon! The airdates are Sundays in January and February at 6:30 am (right before Nature Cat). These are viewable on the RMPBS channel DT1, from the website www.RMPBS.org live streaming, or through the app they have available on your most preferred device (learn more here).
