A Note from Mrs. Johnson:
Beginning Monday, May 4th, if students have overdue books, they will not be allowed to check anything out. I will be sending overdue/lost letters home regularly until the end of the year. Please stress to your students the importance of returning or paying for books that belong to the entire school.
The last day for checking out books is Friday, May 22nd.
All student books are due by Friday, May 29th.
If your child enjoys coding, please check out this website-this program was used on Digital Learning Day!
In Math, we will work on equations (using a "function machine") and examining how to find a missing number in an equation looking at the functions given as clues.
In reading we will work on our last rotation in guided reading focusing on movie and book reviews.
In Social Studies, we will start chapter 10 which reviews the 3 Branches of Government. On Friday, your child will receive a study guide for our third capital quiz and that test will be on MONDAY MAY 11.
We will also start our last writing unit of the year-Nonfiction reports. We will look at finding a topic for study, using cause and effect in research reports, developing research questions, and learning how to cite and take notes.
We will also continue Junior Achievement this week along with another visit from Mr. Landry with Adopt A Pilot.
