Farewell Mrs Sonia Thomas! Sonia leaves us at the end of this term. Sonia will be taking up a Year One position at John XXIII, where her children attend high school. Sonia has been great to work with, and we thank her very much indeed for the terrific contribution she has made to life at Holy Rosary. We wish Sonia every success in her new position.
Welcome Miss Kelsey Stribbling! I am pleased to inform you that Kelsey has been appointed to take over from Sonia. Kelsey is looking forward to joining us next term and is genuinely excited to become a part of this great community.
A COUPLE OF REMINDERS
Before school supervision commences at 8.15. Please either ensure children are not at school before that time - or take advantage of the Before School Care run from the hall by Discovery Kids which is open from 7.00am.
Many families don’t take straight off after school, but allow their children to play on the Dominican Playground, which is so nice to see. However please remember that the Dominican Playground is licenced to OSHC from 3.30pm so do ensure it is vacated for their use by that time.
2019 Sacramental Program
A big thank you to all those families who attended the Registration Masses last weekend. It was wonderful to see so many families supporting the children as they grow in faith, hope and love.

HOLY ROSARY COMMUNITY NEWS
*** RAISING YOUR CHILD IN A DIGITAL WORLD *** A TALK PRESENTED BY DR KRISTY GOODWIN
HRC ORGANISED EVENT
THURSDAY 2 MAY 2019; 7:00PM - HOLY ROSARY SCHOOL DOUBLEVIEW
The HRC have invited Dr Kristy Goodwin to come and speak to the parents of Holy Rosary and the surrounding community on an issue facing most families today - Raising your Child in a Digitial World.
Dr Kristy will share her simple formula to calculate healthy screen-time limits and will arm parents with a host of strategies and ideas to prevent techno-tantrums and to help kids develop healthy technology habits. Dr Kristy will explain how technology is impacting kids’ learning, sleep, social, language, play, physical skills and their vision, hearing and posture and will arm parents with practical strategies about how to best raise kids in a digital world. Parents will learn how to get the most out of their child’s screen-time so they can finally ditch the guilt and guesswork. Kristy also covers cyber safety and helping kids navigate social media platforms and offering strategies for parents to lend a helping hand.
Tickets are $30 and will be available soon on Eventbrite.
Further information on Dr Kristy can be found at: https://drkristygoodwin.com/
The event is open to all parents in the community so please feel free to share with your friends. We look forward to seeing you there!

Seeking group of parents to arrange some fun!
Last year we had A LOT of fun at Musical Bingo. And the year before we had A LOT of fun at Bogan Bingo.
What should we do this year?
The last two events were a team effort – parents getting together and having fun planning the fun. Others quickly join in when things start to happen! Meetings on lounge carpets, in cafes, in the parking lot… you know how it is!
We’re thinking end of Term 2.
If you have a group of people willing to lead the charge, we know you won’t be short of helpers.
Let the office know and we’ll be in touch! Cheers, Mark Nolan
DADS and KIDS CAMPOUT 2019
This years turnout for the Dad and Kids Camp Out was terrific with over 100 families and nearly 300 people attending, the biggest turnout in recent times. The weather was perfect and a lot of fun was had by kids and dads. Thanks to everyone who helped out with running the event including the usual band of merry men (who know who you are) and a few newbies who stepped up. Also many thanks to Farmer Jacks in Woodlands for their continued support.
As mentioned on the day if anyone is interested in getting involved in organising the event next year please get in touch with Nathan Byrne at firstname.lastname@example.org so we can make sure this wonderful tradition continues for years to come.

On the weekend the Year 4 girls won their grade. They were crowned the Champions for the U9's Teeball team.
Next Friday, 29th March, is our Second Hand Book Sale for Project Compassion. We are so fortunate to receive so many book donations to the library, which we use to replace damaged copies, pass on to our classrooms or have as spares. Books in our sale are made up of donations or old library books we longer need or use. It is a great way to help those less fortunate than ourselves while picking up a great bargain! Books will be 20c or $1, and a special year 6 table will be set up for our older readers. The Book Sale will take at place at lunchtime, in front of the library, with any leftover books for sale after school. Donations can be left in the boxes outside the library this Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Thank you so much for your support.
