mostly the green leafy vegetables such as spinach, broccoli, pinto beans, collard or turnips greens, or asparagus, etc. Plus fruit with folate are blackberries, strawberries, oranges, grapefruit, bananas, etc.

When is folate most important

Folate is most important when the mothers are expecting so the baby won't develop neural tube defect that causes the spin not to grow right.
