2020/21 Newsletter
Message from the Principal
Lubbock-Cooper High School Students and Families!
We are very excited that Lubbock-Cooper ISD is going to provide in person learning to start the 2020/21 school year. We have greatly missed seeing our students and can't wait to have them back on campus!
Each family should have received an email from the district on Wednesday, July 22nd explaining our plans for reopening our school and your options as a parent. Please be on the lookout for a second "Back to School" survey early next week that will ask how you plan to start the school year (in person learning or online learning). This second survey will need to be complete by the end of the month and will firmly commit you to the learning option of your choice when school begins on August 19th. It will be imperative that you submit the survey as soon as possible so that we can finalize student schedules prior the schedule pick-up on August 4th and 5th.
Thank you for your patience as we have been developing a plan for the upcoming school year. As always, we are fully committed to providing a safe, effective learning environment for our students and faculty. Whichever option you choose to start of the 2020/21 school year, our teachers and administration are dedicated to ensuring you receive a quality, rigorous educational experience.

New Schedule Pickup Times!
Please park in the teacher parking lot on the northeast side of the building. Students will enter through the northeast door of the 800 hall near the ag mechanic shop. Please see the map below for more details.
We have allotted separate four hour times slots for each grade level. Sophomore, Junior, and Senior students are able to receive their schedules anytime during their four hour window. Freshmen will need to come up to school the hour that corresponds with their last name (all freshmen who finished 8th grade at a Lubbock-Cooper middle school will receive their ipad, coming by last name will help speed up that process).
All students will need to be in dress code in order to have their picture taken and receive a schedule. Male students need to be clean shaven with any visible piercings removed. Male and female hair needs to be of a natural color. All other dress code rules that would be visible in a picture will be in effect.
All students will be encouraged to social distance while at schedule pickup and will be required to follow the governor's mask ordinance.
The original times for schedule pickup have changed due to the need to space out attendees. Please note the new times below.
Tuesday August 4th 8am - noon: Seniors Only (Come and Go)
Tuesday August 4th 1:30 - 5:30: Freshmen Only
1:30 to 2:30 - Freshmen last name A through E
2:30 to 3:30 - Freshmen last name F through K
3:30 to 4:30 - Freshmen last name L through R

Freshmen drivers will not be able to purchase a parking sticker until the first day of school
Wednesday August 5th 8am - noon: Juniors Only (Come and Go)
Wednesday August 5th 1:30 - 5:30: Sophomores Only (Come and Go)
School Pictures MUST be taken in order to pick-up schedules or to purchase parking stickers!
You must meet the dress code for hair (no facial hair), piercings, & clothing to have your school picture made.
Please come prepared for your picture!
Parking Stickers, Senior Painting, and Class Dues
On schedule pick-up day students will also have the opportunity to purchase a reserved parking spot and pay for class dues (class dues are $10 and go to help with the cost of prom, seniors are exempt from paying class dues).
Parking sticker purchases will require a driver’s license number, license plate number, color of vehicle, and make and model of the vehicle. The cost to purchase a regular parking space is $50, a limited number of spots in a discount lot will also be available for $25. You will need either check or cash. We will not be able to process debit or credit cards.
Seniors who want to paint their parking space must have their drawing approved by a principal and signed permission slip from their parents (see permission slip and paint form link below). The cost to paint a parking spot is an extra $30, this includes the cost of having the spot repainted at the end of the year. Paint days for seniors will be Thursday and Friday, August 13th and 14th (these are the days we can guarantee the parking lot will be free of other vehicles).
Parking sticker purchase and painting are Non-Refundable.
