1874-1892
CONTENT 1
The idea of Impressionism started in the 1860's. It officially began by Edouard Manet in 1874 in Paris with the group called the Anonymous Society of Painters, Sculptors, Printmakers, etc. it was created because some artists wanted to free themselves from the rules of painting at the time. The group got rejected, but the emporer had the people judge the works. The people came, but only for a laugh. The main concept was to break free from the rules, loosen brush strokes, and lighten color pallets to include the intense lighting and colors.

Beach in Pourville, Claude Monet
The Balcony, Edouard Manet
Ballet Rehearsal, Edgar Degas
Sunrise, Claude Monet
The Sunrise by Claude Monet is oil on a canvas. This is my favorite painting because of the calm colors and the scene. It makes me feel very relaxing. The lines and brush strokes provide great detail. This is my favorite painting from the Impressionism art movement.
