What Is a Mountain?
A mountain is a piece of land that is taller than the land around it. Mountains are found everywhere. Sometimes there is one mountain that stands alone and sometimes they are apart of a mountain range.
Natural Recsources
Small plants coal, zinc, iron, gold, lead, oil, gas, pine trees, copper, mercury, silver, wildflowers, phosphate, and marble.
Animals
At the low part of the mountain there are foxes, squirrels, owls and rabbits. llamas are found in the Andes Mountains as are yaks and deer.
Fun Facts
Begins in the north Colombia and Venezuela went about 5,000 miles south through seven countries. Fourteen of the peaks are 26,247 feet higher than sea level. Animals on mountains have thick fur to protect them from the cold.
