The Manning Weekly Update
March 11, 2022
Manning Community,
I've got a few important announcements this week:
1.) Applewood Community Church has graciously opened up their parking lot to us! This is important as we are on the cusp of the I-70/32nd Avenue bridge replacement. Please consider having your child/children meet you there for pick-up in the afternoons. Thank you so much Applewood Community Church congregation!
2.) Our deadline for purchasing a yearbook is quickly approaching! The deadline to purchase a yearbook is Monday, March 28th. With spring break in a week, make sure you get this done ASAP so you don't miss out. We have had a dedicated journalism/yearbook class this year as one of our electives, and the students have been working hard to produce a great memorabilia of the 2021-2022 school year.
3.) Thanks so much to our 7th grade families for loading the teacher's lounge this month! We are so appreciative and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
4.) CMAS is quickly approaching. Please note that we have a modified contact day on Friday, April 15th due to our CMAS testing. Only 8th grade students will report to school on Friday, April 15th to complete three science CMAS tests.
5.) We are looking at fun end of the year events for our students, and will let you know more about those events once the dates are solidified.
6.) Finally, our monthly PTA meeting will be held next Thursday morning, March 17th, @ 8:30 a.m. in the LMC. We hope to see you there!
I think that's it for now. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Better Together,
Christian Ramaker

UPDATE - Important Upcoming Bridge Replacement I-70 & 32nd Ave
Hello Manning Families,
The I-70 over 32nd Avenue bridge replacement project is implementing traffic shifts expected to begin at the end of this week along both directions of I-70 over 32nd Avenue in Wheat Ridge. Three lanes of travel will be maintained along I-70 during daytime hours, but in this work zone motorists should expect:
- Narrower travel lanes along both eastbound and westbound I-70 over 32nd Avenue.
- Solid lines indicating no passing within the traffic shift area.
- Reduced speed limits.
Please drive safely and with caution through the work zone. If you have any questions or concerns, reach out to the project team:

Spring is coming and so are the CMAS
It is that time of the year where we are coming up to CMAS testing for our students. Please remember that CMAS is a state mandated test for ALL Colorado students. We here at Manning use ALL data to guide our teaching. Unless there is a specific need for a student to opt-out, we request that everyone does take the test.
The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) requires the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) tests for grades 3-8 each year. CMAS English Language Arts , Math, Science and Social Studies assessments were developed to measure grade level expectations in the Colorado Academic Standards.
Designed to be administered online, the tests feature a variety of interactive questions that are engaging and aligned with 21st century teaching and learning practices. CMAS testing occurs annually in the Spring.
Grades 6, 7, 8 are tested in ELA & Math and Grade 8 is tested in Science.
The length of regular test are as follows: (this may change due to individual student needs for extra time)
ELA: Test Unit length - 110 minutes
Math: Unit length - 65 minutes.
Science: Unit length - 80 minutes
