SRMS IB News
Summit Ridge Middle School December 2022
Learner Profile: Knowledgeable For the month of December, our school will be highlighting what it means to be a “Knowledgeable” student. As an IB school, we foster curiosity by encouraging students to ask questions and seek answers. In class, students explore relevant concepts that both have local and global significance. To promote "Knowledgeable" learners at home, parents can watch or read the news in order to discuss current events. Engage in discussions that challenge you and your student to think. | Community Service For the month of November the National Junior Honor Society held a canned food fundraiser. The whole school contributed and SRMS was able to donate 2 truck loads of canned goods to the Jeffco Action Center. Thanks to our students and their families, the canned goods will directly impact Jeffco families in need. If you know of any families in our community who are experiencing financial challenges, please reach out to our school counselors. | Life Long LearnersAs an IB school, Summit Ridge is dedicated to keeping our staff up to date with the latest IB training. On November 14th all staff attended targeted IB sessions that allowed for planning time to immediately implement new strategies. Our sessions were led by teachers and staff who attended IB conferences over the summer. The sessions were created using the IB framework and all sessions aligned with our school's Unified Improvement Plan. |
