Need to Know-Issue #1

A new addition to our e-Newsletter, use this link to guide you to our Parent Need to Know. Throughout the year we'll include some of our most frequently asked questions of Administrators and Secretaries. We hope this provides some background for how we operate and the reasoning behind it. In our first issue we address the following questions:

  • What are A & B Wednesdays?
  • What is Period 6/Extended Learning?
  • Why are students dismissed at 2:15 every Wednesday?

Meet the Franklin Staff

6th Grade Academy

Our annual Summer Academy was held from Aug. 3 through the 6th. This was an exciting time for students to get a head start on feeling comfortable with their new building and routines that they would be experiencing in middle school. Students were recommend by grade school counselors and teachers. Students got to practice using and packing lockers, eating in the cafeteria and making transitions from classrooms and class activities. All of the students felt as though they were ready to begin 6th grade when the week was finished. A celebration of attendance was held on Thursday, August 6th with a cookout and the presentation of award certificates.

The beginning of the year is always a hectic time. This is especially true to students who want to get involved in our extra-curricular activities. Summer Construction

See the video below about the construction projects that took place over the course of the summer. We are extremely fortunate with the community's continued support of PPEL (Physical Plan Equipment Levy) that makes these types of updates possible. All of this summer's projects help create an environment that's conducive to student learning. Thank you.
