Week of December 14th-December 18th
NEWS FROM THE CAPTAIN'S QUARTERS
Today- sweet treats
Tuesday: hot apple cider
Wednesday: Elkins Trail Mix
Thursday: Chips and Dips
Friday: Pancake breakfast served by Bobby and myself. We will begin at 7:15!
~ Don't forget to fill the stockings with notes, treats, and warm fuzzies!! Make sure to take down your stocking before you leave on Friday, so that you can see what treats were left for you.
~ Shout out to EVERYONE for a fantastic literacy night last week. We had 333 people sign in! That's a great success!!! I appreciate you all SO much for working with your teams to organize your area! The book fair did really well too, so it helped us earn some money for our school!! Great job, everyone!!
~ Don't forget about Tacky Christmas Sweater (or shirt..depending on if it's 80 degrees or not!) on Thursday! This should be a fun day!!
~ Friday afternoon, we will be participating in a scavenger hunt with Saginaw Elementary! It will be a fun afternoon, and we really hope you enjoy it!! You will be able to go off campus for lunch, then we will meet at 1:00 at Saginaw! Please be on time, so we can get started!! We will explain the rules, and you will be in teams of 4 (I will send the teams later on today or tomorrow). This is a great way to end the year with some fun team building , a lot of laughs, and get us in the holiday spirit! This is for ALL staff, so paras will be included in the teams! Get excited...there are some pretty cool prizes!! Get your competitive juices flowing!! Think strategy!!!
~ Speaking of Friday afternoon, don't forget about the holiday shut down procedures. This is the main time of year (other than summer) where the district saves a lot of money on utility costs. They will be making rounds to check, so look over the email that Diana forwarded last week from Brandon Jordan to make sure you have everything unplugged, defrosted, etc.
CAMPUS NEWS
~ Julie Vu will be here on Wednesday from 10:30-1:00 walking around to various classrooms.
~ Also, the Holiday Open House is on Wednesday. It takes place all day, so stop over for some yummy treats during your conference time on Wednesday. If you're planning on going to the open house, please don't wear warm-ups. Jeans and holiday shirts are fine, but if you want to attend the open house, I ask that you forgo Warm Up Wednesday this week! Thanks!!
~ Dr. Chadwell will be here on Thursday morning at 9:45 for a visit! He will enjoy seeing all the kids before getting out for break as well as all the tacky sweaters! Maybe I will have him pick his favorites to win some prizes!
~ Please send me your December Elk of the Month by Wednesday!!
~ The December spirit rally will be this THURSDAY, December 17th, since Friday is a 1/2 day. The Starsteppers from SHS will be there to perform, and our spirit rally committee will organize everything else!! They did a great job last week, and they're learning so much about communication, organization, and public speaking skills by organizing these events!
~ We have had more vandalism over the weekend. With the holidays coming up, we expect even more. Before leaving on Friday, make sure to lock up everything in your cabinets/rooms. Please bring the campus iPads to the office, and we will lock them up in the vault.
