6TH GRADE PROMOTION
MOVE-UP DAY - FRIDAY, JUNE 12TH
Many of our Linden traditions and routines have been interrupted due to the school closure. This includes Move-up Day the final week of June. While we will not have the opportunity to hold this event as if we were back at school, we still want to engage students in the excitement that comes with Move-up Day. To introduce students to their next grade-level team, our teachers created a welcome video message that includes a warm greeting and information about engaging activities that are unique to the grade level. This message will be sent to students on Friday, June 12th @ 9:00 AM.
On Tuesday, August 4th, you will be able to access your child’s teacher/placement for the 2020-2021 school year. More information about how to access the information through the Parent Portal system will be shared in July.
We know that a virtual Move-Up Day does not replace the joy of changing classrooms and meeting next year’s grade level team, but we are hopeful a preview of the curricular themes will give students a welcoming introduction to the 2020-2021 school year.
Pick-up and Drop-off Drive-thru
We will be hosting a drive-thru pick-up and drop-off on two different dates; Monday, June 15th and Tuesday, June 16th. Monday is reserved for 6th grade students and for all families who borrowed a CBSD iPad and/or laptop. Tuesday, June 16th, is reserved for all remaining families. If you prefer to return your child’s borrowed device on the June 16th drive-thru, we will accept items at that time as well.
Pick-up stations will be organized for 6th graders to retrieve promotion/recognition certificates, art folder/artwork, etc. The drop-off stations will be available for return of materials such as textbooks and/or library books. Please do not return consumable workbooks in which student have written.
The drive-thru scheduled for June 15th will run from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM. In the same manner as our materials pick-up last week, cars should circle our school, follow traffic to the gym side of the playground, and around to the blacktop area behind the school. Signs will indicate pick-up and drop-off locations, and staff will be outside to assist you. To improve traffic flow and reduce your wait time, we ask that you arrive during the window assigned by grade level. Like last week, we will be following the family count model (Plan to arrive at the indicated time of youngest student). If you are unable to arrive during your designated time, you may come during any other time of the drive-thru without prior arrangements. If neither date or times are possible, you can email Mr. Testani: email@example.com for special arrangements. If you were unable to retrieve your child’s personal belongings during last week’s drive-thru, you may retrieve them during either day.
Drive-thru Monday, June 15th from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
- 6th Grade
- Families with CBSD Loaner Device
Drive-thru Tuesday, June 16th
- Grades K & 1: 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM
- Grade 2: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
- Grade 3: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Grades 4, 5 & 6: 12:45 PM – 2:45 PM
Musical Instrument Return Procedure
Hello instrumental music families!
As the school year comes to a close, many of you have reached out with questions about what to do with your instruments. We encourage every student to keep their instrument over the summer! It is best for your child’s musical development to continue playing over the summer – plus certain rental companies have special promotions for renting during this time! If you plan to keep your instrument, there are no further steps required!
If your child is certain that they do not wish to continue playing their instrument next year, they will be able to return their instruments in the coming weeks. Below is a schedule of rental drop-off times and locations for both Zeswitz and Russo.
Parents who are renting instruments and are planning on returning them for the summer:
Families using RUSSO MUSIC:
- CURBSIDE PARENT DROPOFF: Representatives from Central Bucks will receive instruments in the Tohickon parking lot.
- Tuesday, June 2nd 12pm – 2pm Tohickon parking lot
- Thursday, June 4th 12pm – 2pm Tohickon parking lot
Families using ZESWITZ MUSIC:
- CURBSIDE PARENT DROPOFF: Representatives from Zeswitz will receive instruments in school parking lots.
- Wednesday, June 10th 9am – 3pm TAMAMEND parking lot
- Thursday, June 11th 9am- 11am TOHICKON front parking lot/bus loop
We both enjoyed our time with your children this year and are looking forward to supporting their musical growth in the fall. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us.
Thank you and stay well!

This week, we will continue to build on the digital citizenship learning we started last week. Kindergarten through second grade will focus on finding a healthy balance with technology. Third and fourth graders will continue playing instructional games through Digital Passport. Fifth and sixth graders will take on a new challenge through Digital Compass where they can apply their knowledge to different situations. As grade levels have different instructions, it's best to access my website for specific, grade level instructions. You can also click the banner below.

John Barclay Elementary School, Palomino Drive, Warrington, PA, USA
The CBSD Farmers Market is open! A week after the start of the COVID-19 crisis, we began distributing food every week on Wednesdays at 4:00 at Barclay Elementary School. We believe that in a community as well resourced as ours, no child should ever be hungry. If you find yourself in need, please stop by.
If you find yourself in a position of giving, consider supporting this initiative. Please help us share food with families and children throughout the Central Bucks School District during this crisis! Click HERE to support our Go Fund Me. Thank you for your generosity!
There are more ways than one to support! Check out the list of item donations needed in the flyer below!
