PRINCIPAL'S POINTS
Parents:
No School Monday January 18th.
It has been great to see the many great activities and learning going on this week at VAHS. Students and teachers have been involved in some deep learning this week, and it has been a pleasure to see students being successful in the classroom.
Our parent survey will be going out through email in the next week, and I encourage everyone to please participate. This gives us valued feedback to help us improve overall as a campus.
Thanks so much and have a great weekend,
Jeremiah D. Johnson

SCHOOL BOARD APPRECIATION MONTH
January is School Board Recognition Month—a great time to focus on the crucial role our elected board of trustees plays in our community and school. VAHS faculty and students would like to honor our extraordinary trustees who voluntarily tackle the enormous job of governing our school district. Their actions and decisions affect the present and future lives of our youth. Thank you for your dedication and service!

REAGAN AND GRANT SMALL SCHOLARSHIP
An endowed scholarship is being set up through the Van Alstyne Education Foundation to honor Reagan and Grant Small. All donations are tax free and will help us to continue to honor the memory of these two precious children for years to come. Checks can be made payable to the VAEF with Reagan and Grant's name in the memo line. You may send your monetary donation to:
Van Alstyne Education Foundation
PO Box 1620
Van Alstyne, TX 75495
With an endowed scholarship once the requirements are met, the foundation will be able to give a scholarship each year without having to continuously raise the money yearly. Karen and her family will be able to present this scholarship and continue to keep the memory of her children alive for years to come. If you could help with any amount at all, it will be GREATLY appreciated.
