A Note from Leadership
Dear Uplift WRH Families,
We had an amazing first week of school thanks to you and your partnership. We appreciate our WRH families more than you know! 😊
Your scholars learned all about WRH routines, made new friends, and learned new things! Our hope is that they are excited about returning for a fun week filled with raffles, popcorn prizes, dress up with Disney characters, crazy socks, and superheroes next week.
Every day this week our carline is getting faster and faster! Thank you for your patience as we teach our new families our carline routine and those of us returning from summer vacation get back into practice! We want to be sure that you do not wait any longer for your scholar than necessary and that you and your scholar have plenty of time to spend together in the evening. Our main goal is the safety of our scholars. In order to ensure that we better meet your expectations, we are asking for your partnership with the following shifts and reminders for our carline procedures:
- All scholars are required to bring a back pack to and from school daily. Today we will be placing a backpack tag and zip tying it. Please do not remove it. This will help us identify scholars quickly and ensure they are getting to the line and cars safely.
- No scholar or family member is allowed to exit the vehicle on the driver side for any reason. When you arrive at the scholar drop zone at the front of the school, it becomes two lanes and is not safe to exit on the driver side for any reason.
- Please train your scholar on how to open and close the passenger side door to enter and exit your vehicle independently. This is especially important with the rise of monkeypox cases. We want to ensure that we are limiting exposure for staff, scholars and families. Therefore, staff members will not be opening car doors; rather, then will help guide scholars when they exit their vehicle to the safe zone to enter the campus.
- When families enter the scholar drop zone area, please ensure when you are dropping your scholar that your vehicle is as close to the right side/curb side as possible to allow vehicles to pass in the passing lane.
- Cell phones are strictly prohibited in the carline for safety reasons. Please adhere to safety guidelines and signs posted with fidelity.
- Please be mindful that there are staff members still arriving and needing to park or exiting. Please be courteous in pausing to allow staff to park for work or exit.
As a leadership team, we believe these shifts will improve the flow of the carline and reduce the time our parents and scholars have to spend in morning and afternoon carline, especially with the extreme heat. We sincerely thank you for your patience and willingness to support our campus as we work to improve our carline process and campus as a whole.
If you have any questions about the carline, please contact Patty Gutierrez, pgutierrez@uplifteducation.org.

Key Info for Next Week
Thursday, August 11th - Super Sock Thursday (wear your craziest or favorite socks)
Friday, August 12th - Superhero Day (dress as your favorite superhero)
Your scholar may participate as much or as little as they would like on dress up days. Please make sure that what your scholar is wearing is appropriate for school (no spaghetti strap dresses or shirts, no crop tops, no flip flops, etc.) If your scholar is not participating in the dress up days, they need to be in full uniform.
Clubs
CLUBS ARE COMING! We are so excited to be able to offer clubs for our scholars again this year! We will be offering so many options from cheerleading to lacrosse and many more options! Be on the lookout next week for our clubs sign up. The sign up is first-come, first served, so be looking for that in your email. If you are passionate about leading a club, please email bparnell@uplifteducation.org and we would love to partner with you!
Uplift App Information
This week you should have received an email from the district with login information for the Uplift App. The Uplift App allows parents to set push notifications for scholar grades, attendance, and lunch account balances. Parents can also access current grade information, previous grades, campus contact information, and much more.
To use your Apple or Android device:
- Go to the Apple App Store or Google Play on your device.
- Search for Uplift Education and download the Uplift Education app.
If you need login information for your account, email Ms. Salazar at tsalazar@uplifteducation.org with the first and last name of your child.
Free/Reduced Lunch Application
As you may know, this year, we transitioned to Titan as our school meals management system. We are aware of the delay in processing lunch applications, and we appreciate your patience. We want to assure you that your scholar will receive free breakfast and lunch for the first 30 days of school.
If a meal application is not submitted and approved by September 1st, the scholar will be considered a paying scholar. Breakfast will still be free for them; however, the cost of lunch will be $2.95 every day.
Please note, applicants that do not qualify for free lunch will be able to add funds to their account starting August 15th. If you are unable to add funds through the Titan portal, your scholar can take the funds to school and a Child Nutrition Program worker can assist you or your child with making a deposit into their Titan account.
Complete the free/reduced meals application as soon as you can: https://family.titank12.com/
