What's The News?
Here's what's going on in room 221!
Our third graders have been working so hard! We are enjoying every moment and have been loving our learning community!
Social Studies
Our third graders have been utilizing the iPads and the laptops to explore different maps. Students have been learning how to use the compass rose, a map key and a legend to help understand the symbols on a map. We have also been looking at different types of maps, such as population density maps and landform maps, to help us learn about different regions in the United States.
Coding 101
Our third graders just started working on coding. If you visit https://studio.code.org/sections/WPELAJ, your child can log on and practice his/her coding skills.
Information Readers and Writers
Our readers and writers are working on growing a deeper understanding of our nonfiction texts. We have been using the information that we've learned in our nonfiction reading to help guide us in our nonfiction writing. Our writers have been thinking about topics that they know A LOT about. We are working towards writing Expert Books about topics that we can teach others all about. Ask your third grader to share his/her idea and to talk more about it!
