The Weekly Hoot
July 30 - August 5, 2018
Greetings All -
Well, my whirlwind two weeks of traveling is over! I have had a great time visiting Morgan and her family, going to the IO Conference in Alabama, and attending the TSL Conference in Bastrop with several of our co-workers. I will admit though, when I drove into my driveway Thursday afternoon, I was happy to be home!
First of all - an update on our Back to School Shindig. Friday, August 10 won as far as the date. I have had a few people give feedback on what to do and one of the ones that came up several times was Grand Station. We can bowl for an hour, I am going to try and get a party room, and then we can play games, visit or whatever. It will be a "girls' day" so no spouses, but girls like to have fun too, right? I will give you more details as far as time on the next Hoot, but I think we will shoot for mid-afternoon.
As of Thursday afternoon when I got back, all of the classrooms and hallways were waxed so ya'll come on up...as if you haven't already been! LOL! I appreciate you all enjoying your summer some the past few weeks so our custodial crew could get finished.
This coming week, on the 31st, our gym floor will be getting waxed. We are to stay off of it until Monday, August 6th. So if you bring your kiddos up next week, please remember they can't go into the gym.
I am calling to see if the county diversion crew can come up the week of August 6-9 also. They will wash the windows, touch up paint, and power wash the back and front of the building. It always looks so much better after they are here. I just wanted to give you a heads up they would be around.
I am keeping the photos you sent me over the past couple of weeks for next week's Hoot because I need to get busy on the handbook, but I am including one. It is of Amanda Sechelski and her dear grandmother, Mildred Hood. Mrs. Hood was 95 years and 11 months old. How amazing! Amanda and her family have been saying their farewell to her all week long. I know Amanda feels all of our support as we enter into the new school year.
I hope everyone has a wonderful week. I can't believe the top of this Hoot says August!!!!
Love to all,
-- Marcy :)
