Milestone Study Book Answer Key: if you need to see the answer key for any Coach books purchased, please email Ms. Swiggum at eswiggum@fsaelementary.org
Reading
Accelerated: This week we began Bud, Not Buddy. Next week, students will look at context clues in the novel, using textual evidence to support inferences. For the next two weeks, students will be preparing for the Georgia Milestones by practicing their writing skills through short and extended response prompts. Reading quiz #1 will be on March 25.
In order to build strong reading comprehension and fluency skills, students should read a non-curriculum book of their choosing for at least 20 minutes every day. Reading logs for all classes are due Monday, March 23.

Another key objective will be understanding prompts and academic language to decipher questions and respond appropriately.
Math
All Classes: Next week, we will review for our measurement test on Friday, March 27. A study guide has been provided and should be available on Class Resources if you need another copy. Please have your child bring his or her study guide to class every day next week.
In preparation for the Georgia Milestones, we have been working on writing in math. Students are expected to write 5-8 sentences when explaining their constructed response math problems. We have been working on this each day during Warm Up, and will review all math topics before testing begins.
Science
Next week we will continue with our study of Force and Motion, specifically discussing acceleration, inertia, gravity and Newton's Three Laws of Motion! Get ready for a roller coaster ride to the finish!
You can expect to see the Unit 5 Exam Study Guide come home on Monday the 23rd. Vocab Quiz #13 is on Tuesday the 24th. Continue to reinforce the RAPP method of constructing responses for our lab conclusions: R: Restate the Question, A: Answer the Question, P: Prove your Answer, P: Proofread.
