Building a Thriving Learning Community!
November 18, 2019
Principal's Notes
Also, mark your calendars that December 2nd is Ride the Bus to School Day. We need all students that can ride the bus to use the bus. Our bus rider head count is an important source of funding for transportation from the Public Education Department.
I hope that each of our families has a wonderful Thanksgiving and moments to reflect on the the small and large things in your life that you are grateful for.
I wish you well.
Taste of Learning Parent Day, November 22
American Education Week is November 18-22, which promotes collaboration between parents and educators. To celebrate Aspen School will invite parents into the classroom for a hands-on experience, a taste, of what the day is like for their child. We will serve apples, pumpkin pie, and apple cider. If you can find child care for your little ones it would be ideal, but it is not required. Parents/Guardians make the difference in a child's education. Please join us!
Schedule*
8:30-9:15: K, 2, 3
9:15-10: 1, 4, 6
*5th grade will be on a field trip that day.
Del Norte Credit Union and the LAPS Foundation are sponsoring the event! Parents/Guardians make the difference in a child's education. Please join us!

Dyslexia is a neurological condition that is characterized by difficulties with phonological (sound systems/patterns) components of language, accurate and/or fluent word recognition, reading decoding and spelling abilities. Research shows that with structured and systematic literacy instruction, almost all individuals with dyslexia can learn to read. The International Dyslexia Association (IDA) website is a good resource.
