Definition
A concussion is a traumatic brain injury that alters the way your brain functions.
Cause
- blow to the head or body
- a fall
- Other injuries that jars or shakes the brain inside the skull
Symptoms
- headache
- confusion
- lack of coordination
- memory loss
- nausea
- vomiting
- dizziness
- ringing in the ears
- sleepiness
- excessive fatigue
- sleepiness
- depression
Prevention
- There is no true prevention for concussions
- were proper head gear (make sure it fits)
- good mouth guards
- abide by the rules
- stretching/strengthening of the neck muscles
