Picture Books are for Everybody!
- Picture books can provide insight into complex topics. Often reading a picture book will be a great starting point when trying to address something new.
- The illustrations give readers time to make predictions and confirm their ideas.
- Picture books allow you to engage in multiple reading comprehension strategies in one session.
- Since there are fewer words in a picture book the author's word choice is deliberate. The vocabulary is ofter more sophisticated than other formats.
- Picture books are a flexible format. The author and illustrator can express creativity differently.
