Tashua School Weekly Updates
Mrs. Neumeyer, Principal
May 14, 2021
Dear Tashua Families,
Thank goodness spring has finally sprung! It is so nice to be able to welcome the warm weather. Our students continue to work hard each and every day; they are showing pride in their work and a passion for learning! Most exciting, is the growth I am seeing them make in the area of literacy. Our students are actively engaged in their learning tasks and are motivated to work on elaborating on their reading and writing assignments by expressing their opinions and adding details. They are reflective of the progress they are making and are diligently using the student rubrics to set goals for further improvement.
Our students in grades 3-5 were thrilled to complete the SBAC testing this week! They all did a fine job. I was extremely impressed with their stamina, perseverance and "can do" attitudes! Next week, our grade 5 students will take the NGSS Science exam on Tuesday 5/18 & Wednesday 5/19. Again, we hope students will not be absent during the testing period, except for illness, and that they continue to strive to do their very best! Please continue to: Have your child arrive to school on time; Provide your child with a nutritious breakfast; Help your child to be prepared for school each day with a fully charged Chromebook and functioning earphones; and set a healthy routine to ensure your child gets plenty of sleep.
We hope you are enjoying our One Book, One School event with your family! We are halfway through the text of Appleblossom the Possum. The students are excited to share how much they are enjoying the story and to answer the trivia question each morning with their class. Remember, if you want to have your child listen to a staff member reading the chapters, you can access these on our school website.
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions, concerns, suggestions or good news to share.
Warm regards,
Mrs. Neumeyer
Principal
