Waterbury Roar
Volume 1, Issue 17; December 18, 2020
A Roar from our Principal, Dr. Jon Pokora
Waterbury Community,
I’d like to thank the PTO for supporting a virtual all school assembly. Watching student reaction to the magician was wonderful to see and hear. I’m very thankful for all the support Waterbury students are receiving.
As we start our Winter Break, I hope everyone has a safe and healthy two weeks. May you and your family enjoy the time together. Should you need anything, please realize we are here to support you. If anything is needed, please do not hesitate to reach out via phone or email.
Dr. Castillo communicated a continued adaptive pause for the first week back from Winter Break. As such, our previously scheduled supply pick up on Tuesday, January 5th will now be for all students from 10 AM to 5 PM.
Happy Holidays and have a wonderful New Year’s! We’ll see you all in 2021!
Thanks and have a great day,
Dr. Jon Pokora
Twelve Days of Christmas/E-Learning parody
Thanks to some lunch-bunch volunteers and a tech-savvy son, Mrs. Reynolds was able to put together a karaoke-like Twelve Days of Christmas/E-Learning parody.
We hope this brings all of our WILDCATS some holiday cheer!

Staying Active over Break
Mr. Colaianne wanted to share a couple of activities to encourage students and their families to stay active over Winter Break. There are some really fun games, dances and workouts that are great for all ages.
The first resource is Holiday Netflex. Holiday Netflex has 60 holiday videos including games, dances, yoga and much more.

The second resource is a 30-day Family, Fitness and Fun activity. The idea is to try and do one of these every day. The activities are meant to get everybody spending time with their families, stay active and have some fun.

If you want to edit either activity to fit you and your family, just make a copy of the presentation so that you can edit it.
Have a great winter break and happy holidays!
It Takes a Community Effort to Help Keep Us Safe
Just a little reminder to follow masking, distancing, and self-isolation when necessary in the coming weeks to reduce our community spread and meet our target return date of January 11. Remember it is extremely important to report all illnesses to the school office once school is back in session.
Have a wonderful much deserved break. Take time to rest and have so much FUN!
Please continue to adhere to these guidelines:
★ Stay home when appropriate – experiencing new symptoms (including fever, cough, headache, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, congestion, runny nose, fatigue, body aches, loss of taste or small and abdominal pain), exposure to someone who tested positive for COVID-19, or are awaiting COVID-19 test results.
★ Wear a mask and socially distance at all times
★ Practice frequent hand hygiene
★ IT TAKES MULTIPLE LAYERS TO PROTECT AGAINST COVID-19.
I also attached the latest exclusion guide that I am utilizing to make decisions regarding daily attendance in our building. Hopefully, it will offer some insight as to why individuals are asked to stay home for a bit.
